Saskia Lankhoorn (1979) studeerde piano bij Naum Grubert aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Den Haag. Ook volgde ze lessen bij Rudolf Jansen, onder andere aan de Académie Musicale de Villecroze.

In 1995 was zij voor het eerst op de radio te horen en drie jaar later won zij de landelijke finale van het Prinses Christina Concours.
Saskia speelt veel kamermuziek en concentreert zich voornamelijk op de hedendaagse muziek. Zij is vaste pianiste van Ensemble Klang.

Begin 2009 debuteerde zij met haar soloprogramma ‘Music out of the City’.

In 2006 won zij samen met Mijke Sekhuis de MCM Masterclass, de Grachtenfestival Publieksprijs, de Persprijs en een concert in het Paleis het Loo tijdens de 58e Vriendenkrans concours van het Concertgebouw en het Concertgebouw Orkest.

Saskia Lankhoorn, born in May 1979 in Naarden (Netherlands), studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Naum Grubert. She graduated Cum Laude for both her Bachelors (2002) and Masters (2005). She also took several lessons with Rudolf Jansen.

She made her first appearance on national radio in 1995 and three years later won the first prize in the national Prinses Christina Competition. She performs both as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the Netherlands and is very active in the contemporary music scene. With her own ensemble, Klang, she has toured the Czech Republic, Scotland and the United States.

In 2009 she debuted with her solo programme ‘Music out of the City’, with works by Kate Moore and Horatiu Radulescu.

In April 2007 duo Sekhuis/Lankhoorn was a finalist in the Concertgebouw’s 58^th Vriendenkrans Competition where she was honoured with both the press prize and the public’s award.
